Martha Brae bamboo raft & Glistening Waters Falmouth
The raft on the Martha Brae river is a romantic and peaceful, relax afternoon attraction. The river is cool and good for a swim. This is perfect to combine with Lumious Lagoon; a special experience due to the soft water and bright blue, shining color.
Martha Brae
Arriving at Martha Brae entrance at Rafter’s Village you are welcomed by live reggae music, rum punch at the bar and gift shops. It features gardens, picnic area and a herb garden which displays local Jamaican herbs and gives information about the healing properties. This is a relaxing environment and a great place to stop and unwind before your rafting trip.
The journey on the nine meter long bamboo raft, which can have 2 persons, takes about an hour to 90 minutes. On your way you’ll pass through dense jungle of bamboo with trees bearing famous Jamaican fruits such as ackee, breadfruit and calabash. Feel free to have a swim during the raft tour and your captain will pause on request when you like a Red Stripe beer or fresh coconut juice.
Bring swimsuit, (natural) mosquito repellent and (natural) sunscreen.
Luminous Lagoon, Glistening Waters Falmouth starts from 7 pm. We will arrive around 6.30 pm for tickets and a show.
The water glows a beautiful blue and becomes illuminated when microscopic organisms are disturbed. Therefor you need to go swim, or watch others. Your captain will explain the science behind this effect.
