‘During my travels I have seen how poor some people are. So I buy honey, art or tobacco, even though I don’t really need it.’
As owners of Rappa Rasta Tours, we not only support local businesses, but also share a drink or a bite to eat with the people we meet.
Remember that many people do not have money for education, water or electricity. A telephone or laptop is also important for them. They also want to look good. We want everyone to have a decent existence.
Do you also want to treat nature and the local population with respect?
Set aside money to be able to give tips during your trip. Sharing a drink or meal is nice.
If someone helps you, no matter how small the gesture, appreciate it with words or a gift.
Taking something with you to give away is of course also an option.
- Good clothes or shoes, football boots, black school shoes, Crocs
- good working phones, ipads and laptops for students or school children
But otherwise: buy souvenirs, fruit and food along the way, preferably at local stalls or shops.
Be humble and generous: travel fair.
Our trips are without flights
Do you want to protect nature reserves and contribute to better living conditions?
There are various projects where the proceeds benefit the local population or nature.
Think for example of Fly Green or Trees for All.
